Last weekend I spent at Peace Island Park, which is just south from Taylor BC, across the bridge spanning the Peace River. I have been camping there for 30 years now and does it ever have more campers now! Well we used to be campers, with tents,  portable stoves, sleeping bags and out houses. Now a days everyone has a big rigs, with kitchens, double beds and their own toilets. My rig is the camper in one of the pictures below, and still use the outhouses as it it easer than flushing toilet tanks.

The park has expanded over the years, with new sites complete with power and a new boat launch.

All these images are HDR shot with a Canon 40D and a Canon 17 – 40L USM. Taken hand held, with auto exposure bracket  -2, 0, +2 stops. RAW files developed in Lightroom V 2.3, HDRs created in Photomatix 3, and then tweeked again in Lightroom. Of course more time was spent on the top image.

Google Wave – Taking the Internet Into The Future – Video

I just found out about this on my friend in Argentina site ilovecolors. He keeps abreast of a lot of things on the web. Wow, Google is doing it again, and keeping it open source too. Look out Microsoft, open source will win. Google Wave is about to roll the internet in to one big ball. Something that I think will be one giant step forward. They have been working on it for 2 years and have a ways to go yet. They are so excited about it they had to tell us what they are doing in advance. It also being open source  they wanted to let the developers know so they could start playing with things too. This is cool and will be lots of fun and informative.

Tori Stafford and Family – So Sorry For You All

This sort of thing has happened in the past and will happen again, unfortunately.  When will we human beings ever grow up? Sometimes it makes me feel bad to be part of this human race. Is it that there is something with the evil doers chemistry? We do know that such things are wrong. Don’t we?  Then to plan it. There is evil in this world, and there is good, sometimes. We have to hang on to the sometimes. Or else we are all the living dead. We still have to be good to the people around us.

My heart goes out to you, mum and dad and brother.

I don’t know why this one hit me harder than the ones past, but it did. I guess I am getting older. I guess I am falling more in love with the smile of a sweet, innocent young girl that no one has wrecked yet. My daughter is 24 and my son is 21, both got hit by cars and nearly killed, in seperate situations. Both still have problems as a result, but they are alive. Life is so fraigle, and most of the young people do not see that. Is that a result of movies? Computer games? Us? I do not know. I do know that I was not afraid of walking down the streets of New Westminster when I grew up there. (graduated in ’73) Now people are driving their kids to school.

Photo Mark’s Boo Zoo Site Up And Running

I got my official Photo Mark’s Boo Zoo site up and running on May 1st 2009! It is a WordPress Mu (multi user) site with the new BuddyPress V 1.0 plug-in installed. BuddyPress also allows for plug-in to be installed into it. This setup creates a social network much like Facebook, but more personal and without all the junk. Developers are already creating plug-ins and am using from some BuddyPress DEV The most noticeable of these to users will be the Flickr and YouTube additions.

So go ahead and sign up to Photo Mark’s Boo Zoo and create a blog, which you can upload pictures, video, and music and start being sociable. Have fun.

BuddyPress – A New Plug-in For WordPress MU That Brings WordPress Ahead

Yesterday I discovered version 1 of BuddyPress, a WordPress MU (multi user) plugin that takes WordPress another step forward. It produces a social network which, with other plugins that are already being developed something close to Facebook, My Space, etc. Your friends are already on Facebook so this will not replace it, but could be fun and more personal. Join up and lets see how much fun we can have. You can create your own blog, wire posts, groups and I will be adding Flicker, You Tube, and other plugins. Check it out http://photomark.ca/boozoo
