Nikon released the D3 and D300 at the end of last year. I switched from Nikon film to Canon digital in 2004 with the release of the Canon Digital Rebel in 2004. Canon beat out Nikon in the digital media at that time and many pros switched (look at all the white lenses you see when a group of photographers are together). I looks as Canon has to take a serious look at the competition now. Completion is good and now we have it. Michael Reichmann of the Luminous Landscape has the resources to compare the to major brands and wrote a very good essay comparing the two. Many more new DSLR buyers might now consider Nikon.
